Gifts for Female Singles:

Now this may sound like a weird matchmaking category, but many women who took our survey put down things such as hair pins, decorative clothe pins, scarves and hats as good beginner matchmaking gifts.

#4 - Desk Decorations
Matchmaking knick-knacks such as paper weights, fancy paper clip holders, funny pens and small picture frames were also mentioned as one of the top matchmaking gifts that our girls would like to receive.

#3 - Stuffed Animals
This should come as no surprise as anything cute and cuddly makes its way to a girl's heart. Bears came up the most, but all stuffed animals are ok.

#2 - Candy and Chocolate
Sorry but that is another matchmaking duh. Don't let her diet fool you. Godiva is an irresistible chocolate brand as is anything from Hersey's, Nestle and Hagen Daz.

#1 - Flowers
Coming in at number one is good old flowers, the matchmaking gift eternally. Most of the women surveyed said that a man need not get too complicated as flowers did it every time.

Gifts for Male Singles:

#5 - Car Accessories
While a little far fetched, this category did come up several times, not as much as the others but it was still in the top five. The matchmaking list consisted of dashboard toys, bumper stickers and rear view mirror hangers.

#4 - Flowers and Plants
Yes shocking I know, but many men were actually not to macho to receive flowers and felt that with in certain boundaries, there were several types of flowers that were excellent ways to start up matchmaking. Same goes for plants.

#3 - Anything to do With Sports
This unusual list consisted of baseball or basket ball cards, posters. Bobbing head dolls, and desk deco.

#2 - Cards and Little Notes
This matchmaking category probably works because guys like direct things and cards and notes give you chance to say what you mean. If you write "I think you are sweet on a card", you probably think he is sweet.

#1 - Food and Candy
Ranking in at number ONE was food and candy. This was a little different than the girls as actual food was mentioned. Anything from fruits and slice of pizza to the good old box of chocolates and cakes.
