Los Angeles, CA - Twenty-one year old Brian Bianchini, a Los Angeles based model and up and coming actor, has used the power of the Internet to become the first male "Cyber-Celeb", in an effort to further launch his acting career.

We are bombarded every day with images of models: skinny is beautiful is the message we are sold over and over in every media outlet. Female models have had to fit into these rigid standards for years or risk not getting a job, but little is said about their male counterparts. Male models also face the same strict "ideals" and are literally starving themselves to make it in the high fashion, high paid world of modeling. Bianchini is one male model who has bucked this unhealthy trend and is flourishing, despite agencies and bookers telling him that he would never make it because of his athletic size.

Bianchini first came to the attention of famed photographer Bruce Weber who immediately hired him for the Spring 1999 Abercrombie and Fitch campaign. Bianchini began working for Undergear and International Male, Cosmopolitan Magazine, and soon found himself thrust into the modeling scene in New York.

New York was an eye opening experience for Bianchini, who had spent most of his life in a small town in Northern California. He was soon making the rounds to clients and photographers who loved him, but was told by his agency to quit working out and to lose 20 pounds, even though he was
constantly pursued by photographers wanting to shoot him because of his "look".

He found it ironic that he was becoming famous for his body, but according to everyone in the business, his body was holding him back. Bianchini had no excess fat on his six foot one, athletic frame that had developed after years of martial arts training. Bianchini was not a body-builder, but was treated by agents and bookers as if he was. He had to make a choice- lose weight or not work. He put himself of a starvation diet of small meals of protein and no carbohydrates to lose weight, and avoided the gym. He soon was weak, miserable and sick.

Many of his male model counterparts used drugs to keep their energy up, to make it to photo shoots
and to maintain their thin frames. Bianchini did not give in to that temptation and after 3 months, filled with self doubt, decided to leave New York. His physical and mental health was more important than anything else. Bianchini returned to California and quickly regained his strength and health. He moved to Los Angeles and faced the same problems he had in New York. Lose weight or quit the business. Taking a cue from female model and "Internet Celeb" Cindy Margolis, Bianchini launched a web site to bring attention to himself and hopefully attention from casting directors and producers in Hollywood. Brian-Bianchini.com was an instant hit with web surfers, receiving over 100 thousand hits in it's first month alone. He began doing photo shoots specifically for his site essentially becoming his own client, and using the Internet to help reach his career goals.

After entering an online contest, he won a coveted guest spot on "Baywatch Hawaii", beating out hundreds of other contestants. TV GUIDE was on the set to do an article on Baywatch Hawaii, and decided to do a shoot with Bianchini and star Brooke Burns for the issue. His interview and photo shoot will appear in an upcoming issue of the magazine.

Bianchini soon found out how popular his web site had become when he began to be stopped on the street by people who recognized him from his web site alone, or his numerous modeling assignments asking for autographs.
