MatchNet signs agreement to purchase leading dating competitor.

Jewish Personal Ads Company Bought

MatchNet, one of the largest providers of online personals, today announced that it has signed agreements with Point Match Ltd. (Tel Aviv, Israel) to purchase certain assets, including Cupidon.co.il, the leading internet personals services in Israel, and JCupid.com, which is a competitor of JDate.com, MatchNet’s online community for Jewish singles.

This deal cements MatchNet’s leadership position in the Jewish online personals market and is an important step to expand the JDate brand outside the English speaking world.

MatchNet plc is one of the world’s largest providers of online dating services. The MatchNet network includes AmericanSingles.com, FaceLink.com, Date.ca, MatchNet.de, MatchNet.co.uk, and MatchNet.com.au. In addition, the Company operates JDate.com and JDate.co.il, the dominant Jewish dating services worldwide; Glimpse.com, an online dating community for relationship-minded gay men and women; and CollegeLuv.com, an online destination for the college-age demographic.
